The Piney Woods Heritage Festival is a step back in time to the days when Picayune was being settled. Come enjoy craftsmen demonstrating and sharing their skills from by-gone days. Spinners, weavers, quilters, blacksmiths, wood workers, and so much more. Try your hand at churning butter, learn how cheese is made, listen to bluegrass music, learn about native dyes from nature, watch cloggers. There will be vendors with homemade jams, jellies, and bread to sell…and their will be food trucks as well. You’ll learn about Piney Woods Cattle and how this breed evolved from the Spaniards.
We need adult Volunteers to help with exhibits, greeting our guests, and children’s games.
