The Ford Center for the Performing Arts, located on the Ole Miss campus, is looking for volunteers to join its ushering corps! We are having a volunteer orientation on Tuesday, September 10th at 5:30pm in the Ford Center. There will be an overview on what it takes to be a volunteer, your responsibilities, scheduling, a tour and a chance to meet other volunteers. Ushers greet guests, check tickets, help patrons find their seats, distribute programs, answer questions, sell merchandise and concessions and help in the case of an emergency. We ask that ushers wear black pants/skirt, white shirt/top/sweater and comfortable shoes. Ushers should be friendly and able to stand for an hour at a time. Accommodations can be made. Ushers are able to choose the events they want to volunteer at and there is no minimum or maximum number of events you need to volunteer at. You choose the events that work with your schedule and interest you. Events can be during the day or evening, weekday or weekend. Ushers are able to watch the events they volunteer at for free. If you are unable to attend the orientation, but would like to volunteer, please email Michelle Cook at mlcook5@olemiss.edu or fill out the volunteer form at https://fordcenter.org/support/volunteer/.
